Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Innovation Activities: The Case of Xerox - Naver Labs Europe

In this chapter we show how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has influenced the research plans of a large manufacturing company, namely Xerox, during its transition toward a stronger inclusion of service provision into its portfolio. We explain how a deep and long lasting CSR culture has influenced and effectively nurtured two (successful) research projects in the area of sustainability and which instruments have made this possible.We will present each of these projects in more detail. Both projects aim at facilitating more sustainable behaviour in a workplace, more precisely to reduce paper wast for the first one and to reduce Single Car Occupancy vehicle use for the second one.Finally, we will discuss how these projects enabled us to develop a more general approach to behavior change in the workplace
