25th June 2026, 7:00 PM, Grenoble, France
The goal of the Grenoble Data Science meetup team is to share the passion for AI, ML, DS, keep learning and connect with people in the Grenoble area.
Romain Bregier will give a talk:
Human Parametric Body Mesh Models
Abstract: Parametric body models provide compact and controllable representations of human shape and pose. They play a central role in computer vision, graphics, and robotics; but are often perceived as complex black boxes by ML practitioners.
This talk will demystify parametric body mesh models by introducing their core principles, including rigid transformations, skeletal animation, kinematics, skinning, mesh representations, and shape modeling. It will briefly compare model families, explain their intended use cases, and highlight practical applications in animation, motion capture, avatars, and human mesh recovery.
