NAVER LABS Europe seminars are open to the public. This seminar is virtual and requires registration.
Date: 24th November 2020, 10am (GMT +01.00)
Speaker: Patrick Pérez is Scientific Director of Valeo.ai, a Valeo research lab on artificial intelligence for automotive applications. Before joining Valeo, Patrick was a Distinguished Scientist at Technicolor (2009-2018), a researcher at Inria (1993-2000, 2004-2009) and Microsoft Research Cambridge (2000-2004). His research revolves around machine learning for scene understanding, data mining and visual editing.
Assisted and autonomous vehicles are safety-critical systems that need cope in real-time with complex, hard-to-predict, dynamic environments. Training (and testing) the underlying models requires massive amounts of fully-annotated driving data, which is not sustainable. Focusing on perception, several projects at valeo.ai will be presented that go towards training better models with less supervision.
