Abstract
Smartphones have advanced to powerful personal devices that support both work and leisure. When exploring an unknown place, mobile applications find their place in-between people and their surroundings and they serve as the habitual assistants on the move. In this exploratory work we have been developing the concept of Ageing Clouds as a novel flexible and higher granularity support for urban exploration. Our intention is to start from it to construct a visual aid on mobile devices to loosely support navigation without demanding unrequired user attention. The field studies we are aware of, technological attempts about representing interesting urban areas and the information foraging theory have seeded this exploratory work.
