Machine Learning for Robotics
Machine Learning for Robotics

I joined at what was then the Xerox Research Centre Europe in 1997 to pursue a Ph.D. thesis in Computer Science which I obtained in 2001 (CIFRE partnership with INRIA Rhone-Alpes). Currently I am a research scientist within the Machine Learning and Optimization team. I am author of more than 14 US patents.

I started my career as a researcher and enthusiast in exploring science and the challenges behind Artificial Intelligence in Text Understanding, developing Information Extraction systems for Knowledge Modeling and Information Discovery with a special focus on Bioinformatics.

After my Ph.D. I moved to an engineering team in a business group to address issues related to Digital Transformation and Document Workflow Automation. My role at that time was to help bridge the gap between state of the art research in Natural Language Processing and advanced prototyping for customer led pilot projects.

I moved back to research in 2008 with a project management role, initiating and managing both open-innovation projects (e.g. ANR-TecSan/ALADIN) and technology transfer projects for the business groups. I coordinate cross-disciplinary & cross organisational teams,  applying my research and engineering experience to develop AI and Text Understanding systems that support Automation in Document Content Management and Workflow Automation with a focus on customer care, healthcare and finance.
