I mainly worked in NLP, in particular on the design and development of a linguistic rules engine: XIP. This rule engine has been used in many European and French projects as well as in many evaluation campaigns.
My current interest is the development of a programming language specially adapted to the creation and management of corpora for Machine Learning: Tamgu.

Senior research engineer.

After obtaining my master's degree in computer science at the Institut de Programmation of Paris VI in 1987, I went to Montreal to do my doctoral thesis. I obtained my PhD in Computational Linguistics in 1996 and was finally hired at the Research Centre in Meylan in January 1998.

My main research focus at the moment is the development of an open source programming language: Tamgu (see: https://github.com/naver/tamgu).

Tamgu is a hybrid language that combines imperative, functional and logical programming in a single formalism. The language is particularly well suited to the manipulation and creation of corpora for Machine Learning.

I taught for a year at UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Technology) as a language assistant for French (1994-95)

I have also given courses at the University of Grenoble and EPFL on linguistic parsing.
