The deep learning revolution has impacted many fields and Information Retrieval is becoming one of them. It is happening right now, thanks notably to the use of BERT in search engines, but also thanks to new models and barriers that deep neural nets can overcome in Information Retrieval.
Want to join the adventure?
In this project, we are interested in the Web Image Search problem which can be tackled with different techniques. In our team, we have developed new search models combining standard learning to rank techniques and graph neural networks, that will be presented at ECIR’20. One of the goals of this post-doc project is to build on these new models and to investigate several research directions.
First, if you are interested in learning to rank, graph neural networks, learning representations for text and images, or dynamic- information retrieval, this post-doc is a good opportunity to explore these topics.
Second, our research is carried out with the ‘NAVER’ Search group running the world’s 5th biggest search engine. This will give you the chance to work on real world problems and to impact millions of search every day!
Finally, we encourage participation in the academic community. Our researchers collaborate closely with universities and regularly publish in venues such as ACL, EMNLP, KDD, SIGIR, ECIR, ICML and NeurIPS.
NAVER LABS Europe has full-time positions, PhD and PostDoc opportunities throughout the year which are advertised here and on international conference sites that we sponsor such as CVPR, ICCV, ICML, NeurIPS, EMNLP etc. NAVER LABS Europe is an equal opportunity employer.
LABS are in Grenoble in the French Alps. We have a multi and interdisciplinary approach to research with scientists in machine learning, computer vision, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, ethnography and UX working together to create next generation ambient intelligence technology and services that deeply understand users and their contexts.
